Who we are
Good Company is a social club for founders on Guernsey, run by Jasmine Alberts. Jasmine is responsible for (the "controller" of) the personal information described here. If you have any questions, email .
What we collect
When you join through the form on this website, we collect:
- your name and email address
- your business or idea, if you choose to tell us
- which events you're interested in (drinks and/or learning sessions)
- the date you joined and agreed to hear from us, and the date you unsubscribe if you do
We don't use tracking or advertising cookies, and we don't collect anything else about you from the website.
Why we use it
- to send you a welcome email when you join
- to email you about upcoming Founders' Drinks and Learning Sessions, including the topic of each session
- to get a sense of who's in the club, so we can plan events people will enjoy
We use your information on the basis of your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the join form. You can withdraw it at any time.
We will never sell your details, share them with sponsors or partners, or use them for anything unrelated to Good Company.
Where it's kept
Your details are stored in a private Google Sheet, and emails are sent with Gmail. Both are run by Google, which may store information on servers outside the Bailiwick of Guernsey, including in the United States, under its standard data protection terms. Only Jasmine can see the list.
The website itself is hosted by Netlify and uses fonts from Google Fonts. Like most websites, these services may briefly see your device's IP address when you visit, to deliver the page securely.
How long we keep it
We keep your details while you're a member. If you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you straight away and keep only your email address and the date you unsubscribed, so we don't contact you again by mistake. If you'd like everything deleted, just ask.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2017 you can:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct it, or to delete it
- withdraw your consent and stop hearing from us, using the Unsubscribe link in any of our emails or by emailing us
- object to how we use your information
To do any of these, email . We'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Authority at odpa.gg.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use your information, we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
